Abstract/Summary

The Philippines has a rich history when it comes to comic books, which were called komiks. In the 1950s and 60s komiks were the top source of entertainment for Filipinos. But in the late 80s the industry crumbled because of economic and management problems. Now, in the 200s, the industry is slowly picking up again. This project aims to delve into the comic book industry to determine where it stands, and what significance comic books still have in the country.
