Abstract/Summary

The study tackles the prevalence and management of stress among 1st year DLSU biology students. These students were currently enrolled in one of the highly competitive and rigorous nature of the course in the said university. A survey was done in the midterm of 2nd semester AY 2008-2009. The result of the survey shows that the total population experience high stress level. The best coping technique that corresponds to the result of the evaluation form is time management. The prevalence of stress among 1st year biology student is high and the best coping technique is time management. The survey is suggestive that it is necessary to have stress management program that will answer the specific needs for college students in a stressful environment.
