Abstract/Summary
This study is an exposition of Section 11.1 to 11.5 of Chapter 11, Continued Fractions of the book Number Theory with Computer Applications by Ramanu-jachary Kumanduri and Cristina Romero [6]. This paper focuses its discussion on studying the definitions and theorems, providing illustrative examples and some applications on finite continued fractions, convergents, infinite continued fractions, quadratic irrationals and purely periodic continued fractions. Computer programs will be presented as an application for finding the finite continued fraction representation and infinite continued fraction representation of rational numbers and quadratic irrational number, respectively, as well as their convergents.
