Abstract/Summary

THE EFFECTS OF GAMMA RADIATION ON THE MUSTARD, Brassica integrifolia L. Mustard seeds were irradiated at the Philippine Atomic Energy Commission at doses of 5, 10, 15, and 20 kr. A control group was also prepared. After irradiation, the seeds were germinated in petri dishes, then transferred to seed boxes. Seedling were transplanted after transplanting from the seed boxes into individual pots. The results showed that gamma irradiation of mustard seeds do not affect the percentage germination and the number of leaves produced, but stimulation of growth by gamma irradiation is possible especially at 20 kr.
