Abstract/Summary
The researcher applied the modification of the Brass logit model made by Pruphetkaew, Tongkumchum, and Choonpradub to the Philippine setting to obtain estimates for the age-specific death rates of the entire population. The estimates for the age-specific death rates were then used to construct life tables for the entire population, and separate life tables for the males and females in the population.
In this paper, the researcher only applied a modification of the Brass logit model to arrive at estimates for the age-specific mortality rate. The estimates were not adjusted for errors or underreporting of deaths.
The calculations in this paper were done using SAS and Microsoft Excel 2007.
