Abstract/Summary

Nocturnal insects were collected by light traps in four stations along the western slope of Mt. Tigabalang, in the vicinity of the DLSU Marine Biological Station. Collections were made once a month from November 1982 to January 1983. The collections yielded 56 genera of insects. The number of genera, the number of insects caught, and their biomass (dry) were noted for each station. Analysis of these data showed that there was no significant difference (P 0.05) between the stations along the altitudinal gradient. The biomass for the month of November showed significant difference (P 0.05) from the other two months. This is correlated with vegetational changes in the fields nearby.
