Abstract/Summary

In buying groceries in supermarkets, people tend to use grocery carts or push carts to help them carry grocery items. Even though these push carts help in carrying loads, they also become a bother because it needs to be pushed around wherever the user goes. This paper aims to implement a microcontroller based push cart controller that can be connected to any available push cart. This controller connected to the cart is able to follow the user of the cart using a unique RFID tag.

The controller uses a microcontroller IC to control the direction of the cart. It uses four infrared sensors placed on different parts of the cart to determine obstacles. The carts rear and front wheels are changed to steering types to make the carts movement easier. The rear wheels are changed to steering types to make the carts movement easier. The rear wheels are used as the driver wheels.

As a conclusion, the thesis works as planned because it is able to follow the carrier of the RFID tag anywhere it goes.
