Abstract/Summary

Based on a true story, this screenplay is about the poignant journey of a teenage girl when a new stepmother five years her senior wreaks havoc in her life. She gets no solace from her father, as he submits himself to the iron rule of his new wife.

In the landscape of World War II, where girls are treated as mere potential housewives and the word of the Mistress of the house is law, the oppressed Amorita refuses to have her life set out for her by a complete stranger, and brings herself to be independent, ambitious, and happy-armed only with wit, love for her dead mother and sickly brother, and devotion to Mary.
