Abstract/Summary

Magtrabaho Ka Nga! is a story about a recent college graduate, Joseph, who fails to obtain his coveted dream job, a career in a call center. An old college friend of his then persuades him to join a new and popular game show that features as its grand prize, a contestant's dream job.

The game show consists of five stages that a contestant needs to pass in order to get hold of the grand prize. The five stages are the following. The Waiting Room, The Interview, The Examination Game, The Race, and, The Luck Game. Joseph must get passed these five stages and two other competitors in order to attain the grand prize, his dream job.

Magtrabaho Ka Nga! represents a job hunters' life in which the obstacles he needs to pass in order to get work are characterized by the stages of the game show. The three contestants in the show represent the stereotyped kind of job hunters. The film also tinkers with the Filipino's fascination with game shows and reality television in the past few years. Magtrabaho Ka Nga! attempts to show viewers the hardship one must go through in order to acquire not just his dream job, but a decent job in our country today.
