Abstract/Summary

A taxonomic survey of the feather stars in Subic Bay, Zambales yielded 15 specimens belonging to four families. The collection was made in the months of June, July, and October in three dive sites, namely, LST Wreck, San Quentin Wreck, and South Reef Canyons Coral Reef. The collected specimens were preserved using 70% ethanol and identified using the works of A.H. Clark (1931), A.M. Clark and Rowe (1971), and Messing (2001). The specimens were stored in the zoology collection of the Department of Biology, De La Salle University-Manila. The collection consisted of eight species representing eight genera viz, Capillaster multiradiatus, Cenometra bella, Comanthus parvicirrus, Comaster nobilis, Comatella nigra, Himerometra robustipinna, Phanogenia gracilis, Stephanometra tenuipinna, all belonging to order Comatulida, class Crinoidea.
