Abstract/Summary

The wireless telecommunications industry grew dramatically with the introduction of cheap mobile rates and the entry of the prepaid service that became a hit to the market. The telecom giants did not just stop in providing mobile service to subscribers; now there are different services subscribers can avail from their service provider such as internet connection and currently mobile banking.

Smart money has been around providing mobile banking for five years. At present, they only have three million Smart Money cardholders. The group thought that the number was still small given the total subscribers the company have. The majority of the Smart subscribers are still significant, making them potential and definite target for the group’s service campaign. But the company does not stop there, being the leader in the telecom industry means there are still competitors to get prospective subscribers from.

The group suggested programs for Smart subscribers to avail the value-added service. The group highlighted the difference of mobile banking of Smart Money card from that of the competition to entice competitor subscribers to make the big switch to a more wide ranged and more practical mobile banking system.

Smart Money card subscribers are expected to increase by at least 50% of the total 3 million Smart Money subscribers.
