Abstract/Summary

Save San Roque is a photographic essay on the current situation and struggle for housing rights of the urban poor settlers of Sitio San Roque in North Triangle Brgy. Pag-asa Quezon City. The residents of Sitio San Roque are comprised mostly of landless peasants, fisherfolk from the provinces and low wage eraners (drivers, street vendors, construction workers) around the city.
Sitio San Roque is situated in a public land owned by the National Housing Authority, the government agency that forged a joint venture with the Quezon City Government and Ayala Land Inc. for the development of Quezon City Central  Business District (QCCBD). Faced with dislocation, the settlers of Sitio San Roque continue to assert their rights to housing and relocation and claimed they have experienced neglect, violent demolitions and foced evictions.
SAVE SAN ROQUE aims to raise awareness about their current struggle and shed light on the concept of development of human rights that is inclusive to the urban poor.
