Abstract/Summary
In 2007, Lacasa et al. introduced a simple and fast computational method that converts a time series into a simple undirected graph, called a visibility graph (VG). This graph inherits several properties of the series which can then be extracted from its topological structure. The following measures were obtained: local transitivity, betweenness centrality, and closeness centrality. Further, the degree distribution was utilized to generate the Shannon Fisher plane that uses Information Theory Quanti ers such as the Normalized Shannon Entropy and Fisher Information Measure that allowed us to verify if the time series is non-stationary or not in the mean. All these graph-theoretic measures allowed us to describe a time series data and were used to determine a critical node that influences the structure of the graph.
