Abstract/Summary
A Comparative Study of the Different Road Maintenance Method Used in Concrete Pavements is a study of the different maintenance method done by PNCC and DPWH on South Luzon Expressway and in Selected Metro Manila National Roads. The Maintenance of Concrete Pavement is considered as an important factor in preserving our investment on our roads and highways. Improper Maintenance Management could lead to great losses and unsatisfactory service to the riding public.
Through the different maintenance method presented, the government and the public will be enlightened to how important road maintenance in our country. The problems encountered during the process of execution of maintenance work will also be presented. Workable recommendations were introduced to make the department more productive and cost efficient.
Aside from the maintenance methods, Comparative Analysis in Built-Operate Transfer Scheme through toll-way system was also considered. The advantage and disadvantage of a toll way system was also considered since the study compared the maintenance work of two road operators coming from the private sector and from the government.
