Abstract/Summary
The photo-essay is entitled In Between Shedding Skin . The images are about the proponent's internalization of the complexities of women representations in Philippine society. These naked self-portraits express different ideas and emotions in response to the degrading portrayals of women in contemporary mass media. The 24 images empower the proponent in representing herself as a woman fully controlling the medium--a female's perspective.
