Abstract/Summary

Computer education has been introduced as early as 1980s. The world is currently in the midst-of-massive technological change. In the Philippines, the number of firms engaged in computer and training is significantly increasing every year. The growth of the industry is manifest by the increasing number of players in it.

More players join the fray and these include Informatics Computer Institute, AMA Computer College and Systems Technological Institute. The continuous increase in the number of the students who enroll in courses related in information technology every year would indicate that the computer education industry is doing well. Even the net sales of firms belonging to the industry are increasing per year.

The establishment of computer schools brought about the development of various information technology courses that would cater to the growing needs of the market. To meet these demands, Information Computer Institute came up with a new course, Advanced in Information Technology (ADIT), which is an IT diploma focused on practical skills. Since there is a demand for IT professionals today, professionals could serve as a potential market for ADIT. A study is made to help Informatics course, compare it with what ADIT has to offer and also figure out ways on how capture this market.

Survey results showed that professionals would be encouraged to enroll a computer course if they are provided with quality education, good facilities, competent teachers, affordable course fees and accessible school location. Given these attributes that the professionals want, ADIT proved to be an attractive course for this market, specifically those engaged in sales since preferences match with what ADIT could offer.

Informatics Computer Institute should then take the proper courses of action to satisfy the needs and expectations of this market. These includes service development program, efficiency in course delivery, price adjustments, effective advertising and a good marketing public relations program that would build good image not only for the course but for the company as well.
