Abstract/Summary
A cryptosystem is a method of secure communication between a sender and receiver. This thesis presents a comparison study between two public key cryptosystem namely RSA and Cayley-Purser Algorithm. The RSA (Rivest, Adi, Shamir) Algorithm has long been proven effective and secure. It enciphers messages by means of using exponentials, while Cayley-Purser Algorithm uses matrix multiplication. It is said that Cayley Purser Algorithm can be as secure and even faster to process compared to RSA because of this.
