Abstract/Summary

The study conducted by the researchers is based on the research paper entitled "Probabilities of Consecutive integers in Lotto" written by Stanley P. Gudder and James N. Hagler. This thesis paper provides proofs for the formulas or methods used in the research paper of Gudder and Hagler in computing the probabilities of consecutive integers in a lotto game. Afterwards, a comparison of the computed probabilities of consecutive integers in a lotto game with the observed relative frequencies of consecutive integers in a lotto game is performed. Through the use of Microsoft Excel Ph Stat, a test of proportion is used to determine if there is a significant difference between the actual and the computed probabilities.
