Abstract/Summary
This thesis is an exposition of the articles entitled Absolute Prime Numbers by Dmitry Mavlo, which appeared in the Mathematical Gazette, Vol. 79, published in the year 1995 and Absolute Primes by A. Slinko which can be found on the website http://matholymp.com/ARTICLES/Absolute_Primes.pdf.
This thesis presents in full detail some important properties of absolute prime numbers, also called permutable primes, which are integers that are prime and which remain prime after an arbitrary permutation of their decimal digits. This thesis also discusses the important properties of absolute prime numbers. It includes the property that a multidigit absolute prime contains only the four digits, 1, 3, 7 and 9 in its decimal representation but it does not contain all of the numbers at the same time. Moreover, absolute prime numbers do not contain in its decimal representation three digits of one number and two digits of another number.
