Abstract/Summary
Abstract. The method presented in this study is an alternative approach in solving potential problems in quantum mechanics. It is a nonlinear Riccati equation derived from the nonrelativistic Schrodinger equation. This method has the special feature of giving the most general solution to the Schrodinger problem provided a specific solution is known. However, this method is not applicable to all potential problems since it is a nonlinear differential equation. It is also limited to nonrelativistic quantum mechanical situations.
