Abstract/Summary
The study was conducted for the purpose of determining the feasibility of manufacturing and selling the product-cogon grass bag. The study shall focus on the marketing, technical, management and legal, and financial aspects of business. Hopefully, this will assume the success of the project.
The market study aims to determine the demand and marketability of the product in places of La Huerta, Parañaque, Badoran Parañaque, and P. Burgos, Pasay. Thus, the proponents made use of descriptive type of research to gather related information on the respondents' product preferences, buying habits, place of purchase, and willingness to buy the product at a certain price acceptable to them. The researchers were able to retrieve 371 survey results as indicated in the computed sample size with a total population of 10,178. Through the results of the survey, the proponents strongly recommend that cogon grass bag be manufactured in oval-shaped and medium-sized back pack type of bag and set a price of P 175.00 to be widely accepted by the prospective consumers.
In the technical aspect, the study aims to determine the manufacturing process, plant size, and location, plant schedule and capacity, production cost, raw materials, tools and supplies required to start the operation of the business. Furthermore through the time and motion study, the proponents found that the production of the product would be better done in an assembly line method with an average of 187 minutes per unit of production. This will yield to a minimum capacity of 12 units per production day. In addition, canvassing was done in places of Divisoria and Libertad market to locate the cheapest possible supplier of raw materials and supplies that will be utilized in the production of cogon grass bag.
The proponents chose the proposed plant site of C.G.B. Corporation located at 22 F. Bernabe St., Merville Subdivision, Parañaque, Metro Manila. As agreed by both parties, the rent for the said plant site will be P 300.00 per month, including utilities and telephone, payable every end of the month. On the other hand, the plant layout was designed in a manner to better facilitate efficient workflow and continuous production process. Considering that all of the proponents have different class schedules, the group decided that the production day be on Saturday and will start at 8:30 a.m. until 5:30 p.m.
In the management and legal aspects of the study an appropriate organizational structure was organized to lay out the goals of the company. In addition, certain rules, regulations, and policies were establish which are to be strictly followed to ensure order and discipline among the members.
Lastly, in the financial aspect of the study, the proponents recommend that a capitalization of P 1500 each member would be sufficient to cover the required financing of the business. In addition, the study shows that the existence of the business, in a period of 10 months will ensure profit. Thus, we recommend that the operation be pushed through.
