Abstract/Summary
Shell Companies collectively form one of the world's largest business enterprises. They are involved in oil and gas exploration and production, as well as refining, transportation, and marketing. As one of the Shell Companies worldwide, Pilipinas Shell Petroleum Corporation (PSPC) dedicates itself to this commitment. In fact, its thrust towards youth improvement, development and education has never ceased to take form through its various external public relations projects, as carried out by its Corporate Affairs Department.
The annual Shell National Students Art Competition (SNSAC), which started out in 1951, strengthens Shell's dedicated effort geared towards youth development through the arts. The Shell National Youth Active Chess Tournament (SNYAC) is Shell's way of promoting greater nationwide interest in chess, particularly active chess, among calculating young Filipinos chess minds. The institution of the Basketbolan Klinik provides opportunities for the less-privileged teenagers to hone their natural basketball talents and skills. This again hoists Shell's flag of commitment to our country's youth.
To reinforce this commitment of Shell, the Shell Tabangao refinery pavilion project is proposed. The project not only provides an avenue for creating the needed awareness of Shell's technical operations but rather, this culminates Shell's dedication to youth development and education, by bringing the oil industry closer to their hearts and minds. The investment plan for the project will amount to P 3,008,654.
As we reach towards a high technology era, Shell responds by providing more efficient petroleum products and environment-friendly technical operations through this new state-of-the-art refinery. Shell is definitely here to stay, growing side-by-side with the country's goal of achieving self-sufficiency in its oil requirements, and that of attaining economic development, growth and stability.
