Abstract/Summary

The present study aimed to find out whether the type of interface and level of expertise has an effect on productivity and satisfaction of college students in using a Photo-editing software. This was done through the use of an experimental method. Sixty (60) college students ages sixteen (16) to twenty three (23) participated in the experiment. They were divided into four (4) groups with fifteen (15) students in each who were randomly chosen. They were observed under the following conditions: experts using a contextualized interface, non-experts using a contextualized interface, experts using a non-contextualized interface and non-experts using a non-contextualized interface. According to statistical analysis and the researcher's observational analysis, the independent variables did contribute to the subjects productivity and satisfaction in using the contextualized interface.
