Abstract/Summary

The study focused on the different areas of youth participation namely: participation in the planning, decision-making, implementation, sharing of benefits and evaluation processes in 2 selected youth programs in B.F. Homes Subdivision in Parañaque. It also looked into the various strategies that the study discussed the different factors that facilitate and hinder the involvement of youth members in the different areas of participation. The respondents were obtained through the use of the chain referral technique. The youth respondents' ages ranged from 15-24 and were all residents of the Brgy. B.F. Data was gathered with the help of an interview schedule. Based on the gathered data, social ties influence the participation of youth in different youth programs and that lack of time is usually the reason why other youth are not able to participate fully in their respective programs. Results show that youth participants' assessment of their participation in the areas of planning and implementation as high and average on the decision-making, sharing of benefits and evaluation stages. The findings of the study proves that the youth participants of the programs' Rovers and Yopada have participation in the different areas of youth participation.
