Abstract/Summary

Basic Works, Co.'s plant site is located at the third floor of 945 Benavidez St., Binondo, Manila, 1006. The proposed product-picture frame-was primarily chosen in consideration of its marketability, as well as the availability of tools and equipment necessary for the completion of the product. The Allure Frame is an elegantly designed wooden picture frame that can also serve as a mirror.

The target market is composed mostly of people from upper and middle income buyers inasmuch as picture frames are considered a luxury need-lower income families cannot really be expected to buy such a luxury item. The primary market is composed of residents of BF Homes subdivision located in Parañaque, Metro Manila. The secondary market is composed of students from the College of St. Benilde.

Basic Works, Co. has a minimum production capacity of 3 units, and a maximum of 48 units per production day. The group will operate at a 20-unit production rate per production day. Production cost is pegged at approximately P 143.00 per unit.

The corporation, which is the chosen form of ownership, will last from October of 1998 to June of 1999.

Authorized capital stock of the corporation is set at P 264,000, or an equivalent of 26,400 shares at P 10 per share. Out of the total authorized, 25% have been duly subscribed, or a total of P 66,000 or 6,600 shares. 25% of total subscribed has been paid in: P 16,500, or 1,650 shares.

The initial investment of the company is at P 16,500. The firm expects a 177.5% return on its initial investment.

The company believes that through the operation of its business, significant benefits will redound to society in general. Consumers will be given a wider array of picture frames to choose from, thus helping them meet their needs according to their discriminating tastes. Likewise, suppliers of raw materials like palochina plywood and fur, will be significantly aided in their efforts to boost their sales, since the firm will serve as a regular customer for nine months. Proponents of the company will likewise be given the opportunity to experience the actual business setting this will hopefully enable them to develop the necessary skills in order to venture into other real-world business enterprises in the future.

In conclusion, Basic Works, Co. believes that it will be truly servicing a marketable need (picture frames) that will redound into significant earnings for the firm, and will reap considerable benefits to society and to consumers in general. Likewise, it believes that it has the necessary manpower and equipment to meet the discriminating tastes of consumers. In short, Basic Works, Co. stands firm in its conviction that it can produce the product, and can actually sell the product-elements necessary for a successful business enterprise.
