Abstract/Summary

It is necessary that a feasibility study be conducted before venturing into a new business. Thus, the proponents made a study on the market, technical, financial, management and legal, and socio-economic aspects of the personalized cork board.

In the market study, the group was able to determine the demand for the product by conducting a survey in the target market. The survey consists of the market preferences regarding the product itself, it's perceived price, its place of distribution, and the promotional tools to be used.

The group also identified the raw materials, supplies, and equipment needed in the technical aspect of the product. The suppliers and the lessors were also included. Additionally, the specific steps in the manufacturing process and the minimum production capacity were calculated. Following these, the plant location, plant layout, labor requirements, production schedule, production costs, and waste disposal were also included in the technical study.

The management and legal portion of the paper tackled the form of ownership, which is a corporation, the organizational structure with the organizational chart, the duties and responsibilities of the officers and personnel of the company, and the policies that will be incorporated in the business. The corporate name was decided to be PCB (Personalized Cork Board) Corporation with Corks Unlimited as the brand name.

Another chapter was provided for the projected financial statements. Also, the group made use of the financial ratios in determining the financial position of the company.

Finally, the socio-economic factors of the corporation was included which looks at the social desirability of the study in terms of payment of taxes, employment, and the social awareness of the corporation.
