Abstract/Summary
A vanity kit is one of the major interests of women and has many functions that satisfy an individual's needs. This is why Quicai Corp., chose to manufacture the Triquettra which is a modified version of the kits. The product can be used as a container for lipsticks, mirrors, make-up, toothbrush, toothpaste, coin purse, ID holder and others. It has an expandable feature and comes in various hues. The product consists of 3 water-proof and detachable kits which is why Triquettra is named as such.
The company conducted a survey using systematic probability sampling. The primary market is mostly female college and high school students from 13-25 years of age. The secondary market consists of male and female office workers. Their ages range from 26 and up. The survey questionnaires were distributed to the primary market coming from DLSU and Barangay Sacred Heart in Kamuning, Quezon City. Questionnaires contained quantitative and qualitative inquiries to determine the affordability, willingness of buyers to purchase the product and their preferred colors and designs. Charts and tables were then used to clearly present the survey results.
With the use of time and motion study, the group found out that it has a capacity of 36 bags per month, with an efficiency of 83%. The use of the assembly line method will be followed by the group. There will be 3 tracers, 2 cutters, 2 sewers 1 packager and 1 quality control supervisor working in 2 workstations.
The proponents chose to form a corporation due to its continuity of existence, increased capitalization and limited liability. The name of the corporation, Quicai Corp., is an acronym which stands for Quality, Uniqueness, Innovative, Can't do without it, Affordability and Important. This was agreed upon by the proponents because it is easy to remember and represents how they view the product. The corporation will last for 10 months beginning September 1998 until August 1999. It consists of 9 incorporators who will occupy specific positions in the organization and contribute P 2000.00 each. In terms of management programs, no position rotation will be done and salaries will be distributed once a month. A maximum of 5 absences will be allowed. These include both excused and unexcused absences. Fines will serve as a sanction for tardiness, excessive absences and violations of rules and regulations. The activities of the company are carefully mapped out in the Gantt chart.
Different financial assumptions were determined by the proponents to serve as guides in formulating the budgets and financial statements. Total project cost is expected to be at P 18000 while total sales is expected to be P 75680. Overtime hours will be observed particularly from October to March to cope with the expected demand. Total operating expenses will be P 9201.80 while total cost of goods sold will be at P 46850.49. A net income after tax is projected to be at P 19504.57. Total assets is valued at P 37504.57.
The government affects the company by the issuance of permits and implementation of business regulations as well as tax collection. The consumers are given the chance to obtain a high quality and easily accessible product which is priced reasonably and designed to cater to their needs. As part of a larger community, the business should be socially responsible by practicing proper waste disposal and recycling. It is also the company's duty to pay its obligations to its suppliers who will then deliver the materials accordingly. This should be observed to foster a healthy relationship. Both the owners and employees of the corporation should benefit from the business by gaining the wisdom of experience in working. The owners will also know how and when to take reasonable risks in investment while employees learn how to treat each other properly.
