Abstract/Summary
Innovative Fashion Unleashed (IFU) is a computer-aided design software that helps in the pattern making, grading, and cutting phases of apparel manufacturing. The system enables manipulation of the patterns in two dimensional form. These patterns can be printed into their actual size to eliminate the process of redrawing. The sizes of the generated patterns can be enlarged and reduced automatically according to the standard sizes used in the clothing industry. To aid cutters in generating the layout on the cloth, an automatic marker generator is included to provide a sample of the suggested optimized marker. However, the choices of patterns are limited. Fabrics to be used are assumed to be plain, and only the nine most common types of fabrics are included in the system. A synthetic actor models the clothes in three dimensional form to enable visualization of the actual output. Moreover, the actor is rotated to show all horizontal viewpoints of the clothes.
