Abstract/Summary
This study of youth leaders in community, specifically in Sangguniang Kabataan, aims to describe the role of youth leaders in the advancement of their organization. It also aims to describe the leadership concept, style, qualities, roles, strengths and weaknesses of Sangguniang Kabataan leaders, how they are trained, the kinds of programs and activities they have, as well as the problems and solutions given in their implementation of such programs.
The findings indicate that a leader's performance is defined by his/her understanding of the word leadership, leadership styles and qualities. It is in the programs and activities that leadership performance can be concretized. To be able to truly perform well the responsibilities of being a leader, political and community support is necessary. These variables help determine the role of the youth, specifically the Sangguniang Kabataan leaders in their respective communities.
