Abstract/Summary

This thesis presents a programming software which automates the card catalog of the De La Salle University Library. Just like in manual catalog system, librarians have the option to delete or add a record in the card catalog in order to update the catalog. The software also includes the option to reserve or borrow a book. An appropriate network design is chosen to suit the requirements of an orderly network flow. The cost and benefits analysis is also included to determine the usefulness of the study. All of the information gathered are taken from books on computer networks and related past theses. Informal interviews are also conducted with the people from the library.
