Abstract/Summary
The main purpose of this study is to discuss a heuristic method of solving a job shop sequencing problem. Such method determines the assignment of jobs to work centers and sequence of processing jobs at different work centers, and devise ways to simultaneously coordinate the schedules of many work centers that can reduce throughput times and costs and increase internal operating efficiencies in the system. The author choose a host company (a lithographic firm) as a prototype of an intermittent productive system.
