Abstract/Summary

Confronted by the problem of long waiting times and overcrowded waiting areas during Christmas season, the researchers determine the waiting times and other indices to measure the efficiency of the queueing system of a post office. After the different mean service times were determined, the researchers recommend either to decrease the mean service time further or to increase the number of servers. Another recommendation is to reschedule the opening and closing time of windows.
