Abstract/Summary
Seagrasses were collected from Talin Bay, Matuod, Lian, Batangas from June to October, 1996. Results showed a total of eight (8) species belonging to two (2) families and six (6) genera. These include: from Family Potamogetonaceae-Cymodocea serrulata, C. rotundata, Halodule uninervis, H. pinifolia and Syringodium isoetifolium and from Family Hydrocharitaceae-Enhalus acoroides, Halophila ovalis and Thalassia hemprichii. The seagrasses were collected on a sandy-muddy substrate during mid-afternoon when the tide was low. The water was clear with moderately strong water current actions. Local distributions of Philippine seagrasses were also enumerated.
