Abstract/Summary
A total of nine food samples & nine water samples were collected from three hospitals namely, Makati Medical Center, Philippine General Hospital & University of Santo Thomas Hospital. The food samples were analyzed in terms of the presence of fecal coliform & coagulase positive Staphylococcus sp. Result for the analysis of water samples showed that one out of nine samples was found positive for the presence of fecal coliform with MPN of coliform of 3/100 mL water sample. Two out of nine water samples yielded counts of 116 & 112 CFU/mL. The counts obtained did not meet the standard set by Bureau of Food and Drugs.
