Abstract/Summary
A total of fifty Tilapia nilotica samples were caught from the different fish pens located in Sampaloc Lake. Collection was done once a week, ten samples per week. The weight of the fish ranged from 200 grams to 250 grams. The samples were brought to the laboratory and the gastro-intestinal tract was examined for helminth infection. Worms collected from the samples were prepared for light microscopy following the standard procedures for helminth slide mounting. Results showed that 18% of the fish samples was infected by helminths. The only parasite isolated from the samples belong to Phylum Acanthocephala, Class Eocanthocephala, Order Neoechinorhynchidae.
