Abstract/Summary
Cabbage samples taken from Alabang, Central, Malabon, and Nepa-Q-Mart, and San Andres markets in Metro Manila were processed and analyzed for their pesticide residues content. Organochlorine residues of aldrin, endrin, -endosulfan, heptachlor, and heptachlor epoxide were detected by using electron capture gas chromatography. The concentration of these residues were determined by the triangular method of comparing the peak areas of samples to those of standards. These concentrations were found to be in the range .001 - .065 ppm which is way below the maximum tolerable limit and can be considered as traces.
