Abstract/Summary
Most input devices that are used for interacting and manipulating runs on a 2D environment. There are some input devices that are capable of interacting in a 3D space, but input devices uses relative positioning that would result to inconsistent interactions of the user with the 3D space. There is a need for input devices that is capable of absolute 3D space positioning. A proposed solution would be the use of 2D camera with depth estimation. This will provide effective user interaction to the 3D environment. The expansion of the 3D space is also possible with the use of multiple cameras. This thesis envisions a system capable of creating and interacting with a 3D environment. Such system should be capable of detecting the 3D position of a person.
