Abstract/Summary

The Automated lawnmower aims to ease the care of our lawn. Its main purpose is to eliminate hazards such as long exposure to sun, noise pollution, and possible cut from blades. With added obstacle detection feature, this machine ensures accident free mowing. Using a rotary blade driven by a 3 5hp motor, this mower will ensure one pass cut for your garden.

The built in limit switch detects any obstacles at its path. It then follows the pre-defined path so the machine is recommended to be initially located at the lower part of a predefined area. The motor movement is controlled by an 8 bit PIC16F877 Microcontroller using Assembly language. An internal clock is used to control the PWM of the two motors to synchronize the speed of the controlling wheels when turning. An H-bridge circuit then drives the motor from the microcontroller circuit.
