Abstract/Summary
A survey on commonly used medicinal plants was conducted in three barrios of Gapan, Nueva Ecija. The list of medicinal plants under study were obtained from the De La Salle - Center for Indigenous Medicine (DLSU-CIM) in Dasmarinas, Cavite). There were 85 medicinal plants utilized in the three barrios out of the total 281 medicinal plants listed by DLSU-CIM. Three other plants were also used by the respondents, namely, Eucalyptus deglupta, Bambusa spinosa and Opuntia ficus-indica, which were not on the list provided by DLSU-CIM. Decoction of plant part is the commonly used. Decoction of leaves is convenient, easy and safe.
