Abstract/Summary

The Automated Fabric Cutter is a project that aims to make the process of cutting fabric easier and safer. The construction of the machine is basically adopting the existing manual cutter into a gantry system. The input pattern will be drawn in AutoCAD and in turn will be read by our program. The program will send signals to the controller circuit that will direct the movement of the stepper motors and in turn will allow the movement along x and y - axis and the rotation around the z-axis. Hence, the pattern will be cut giving the output from the AutoCAD drawing.
