Abstract/Summary

Cornerstone International Philippines (CIP) is one of the leading suppliers and importers of hotel and restaurant ware in the country. Its products include tabletop supplies and equipment, hotel room safes and amenities, mini bars, housekeeping materials, heavy-duty dance floors and stages.

Cornerstone currently has three warehouses located in three different sites across Metro Manila. The warehouse which the research study focuses on is located in Samat St., Quezon City. The main problem with the warehouse operations is that the company is too dependent on the warehouse manager and the only time goods can be delivered to the company's clients is when the warehouse manager is present. The warehouse manager is in charge of making sure that the correct number of goods is brought in and out of the warehouse. His other tasks include arranging the delivery routes and schedule as well as preparing the invoice of the deliveries. Hence, the warehouse manager's role in the company's operations is vital. The moment he leaves or becomes incapacitated, business operations would be crippled.

This research study aims to help Cornerstone solve the current problem regarding their overdependence on the warehouse manager. The research study has produced solution of rearranging and organizing the warehouse layout and creating a database that will aid the company in recording the transactions made. With such solution, the company will be able to lessen their dependency on the warehouse manager.
