Abstract/Summary
Ione of the most-well known toys in the world is LEGO. The LEGO appeals directly to the enthusiast’s imagination because LEGO components come in a great range of shapes and sizes that can be connected to each other. Several LEGO CAD systems were created to allow users to create virtual LEGO. The Mesh-Guided LEGO Model Synthesis is a system that uses a 3D mesh that serve as a guide in building 3D LEGO models by polygonal approximation. However, there are limitations that need to be addressed like insufficient number of LEGO components in the system available for building. Also, an instruction on how to build the physical model is not provided. This project will extend Mesh-Guided Lego Model Synthesis by providing more features like manipulation of mesh and layers, generation of an instruction for building physical model based from the virtual model and file format compatibility with LEGO Digital Designer.
