Abstract/Summary

The Thesis Scheduler is a software, which will aid the thesis coordinator of the College of Computer Studies.

In short, the job of the coordinator is to gather data regarding the scheduling of theses. These include data from the thesis groups, data concerning the faculty and the rooms in which the defense will take place. Aside from gathering these data, the thesis coordinator must also find a common free time between thesis groups and faculty. In essence, the Thesis Scheduler will handle all these data and produce the schedules for the thesis coordinator. The software will also provide additional functionality by allowing the schedule list to be sorted according to different preferences (e.g. according to time, faculty load).

The system specializes in creating the appropriate schedules for each thesis in a particular department and also sets the different advisers and panelists for the thesis. An attractive feature of the system is the ability to schedule the theses in such a way that the advisers will have ample time to do their other activities.
