Abstract/Summary
The collection of Sargassum species was done at Talin Bay, Matuod, Lian, Batangas within a period of six months. A total of seven species was identified. These were: Sargassum oligocystum Montagne, Sargassum siliquosum J. Agardh, Sargassum paniculatum J. Agardh, Sargassum notarisii Zanardini, Sargassum cristaefolium C. Agardh, Sargassum crassifolium J. Agardh, and Sargassum illicifolium (Turner) C. Agardh. Morphological features of the different species were carefully examined in both the pickled and the dried specimens.
