Abstract/Summary

Within an educational institution, course information, as well as information corresponding to the members of the institution, needs to be organized and shared.

Co-mentS is primarily designed to aid in this problem. Co-mentS is a Knowledge Management System that organizes and maintains the course information of an educational institution. Course information is represented by different knowledge unit (k-unit) types which are organized into an accessible and easily retrievable tree structure. Each k-unit type has its own properties which correspond to the properties of different course information. Tools are provided for the users to maintain and package these k-units.

Co-mentS also keeps track of the records of the members of the educational institution. A messaging facility is provided to allow them to communicate with one another.
