Abstract/Summary
Blood Inventory and Ordering System (BIOS) have its thrust in improving the service of the National Blood Program of the Philippine National Red Cross. The benefits that would be derived from the system will have a considerable impact on the society especially for those whose lives are being pampered by the institution.
PNRC-BIOS automates the blood ordering and inventory monitoring of PNRC-National Blood Program. It will have two major parts, the inventory module and ordering module. The inventory monitoring will take care of the basic inventory transactions of PNRC-NBP, from the addition of a blood bag to the release of the blood bag upon granting orders or disposals. For the ordering, the system would have a networked setup connecting the hospitals to PNRC allowing an on-line batch system of ordering blood and their components with much consideration to the current supply and urgent needs of specific hospitals. Two different modules were created, one for hospital (BIOS-Hospital) and the other one for PNRC-NBP (PNRC-BIOS)."
