Abstract/Summary

The study aimed to develop an information system for the faculty information of the College of Computer Studies (CCS) of De La Salle University. A thorough study of the current system was done and based on these observations, a proposed system was developed. Information gathering was determined through interviews conducted to several administrators of the college and by referencing the 1996 Faculty Manual. All of the information pertaining to a faculty member is included in the system, including his personal and professional information. This information will subsequently be used to determine the processes or career movements that a faculty member undergoes. The processes included in the system are hiring, promotion, reclassification, permanency, renewal, termination, and resignation of a faculty member. The system will provide the information needed to be able to determine which processes apply to a certain faculty member.

The study determined that the information provided by the system would aid in the decision-making of the administrators regarding the career movements of the faculty members. Information retrieval and updating would be made easier and more accurate. Report generation would be compiled automatically and can be easily produced. The system would prove beneficial to the users since the needs of each user were incorporated into the system. However, the system is in need of being networked so that multiple users can access the system at the same time."
