A study of the taxonomy of the holothuroid fauna was conducted from September 1991 to May 1992 in San Juan, La Union. Seven species belong to Order Aspidochirotida, (Malodeima) pulla, Holothuria (Metriatyla) scabra, Actinopyga echinites, Actinopyga lecanora, Bohaschia graeffei and Bohadschia marmorata one species fall under Order Apodida Synapta maculata.
