Abstract/Summary

Executive Summary. The major assumptions in conducting this project study as well as the findings discovered, and the conclusions arrived at are summarized below.

Market Study. This part of the study was based on the conclusions arrived at from the survey conducted by the proponents, as part of the methodology. Aside from that, informal interviews were conducted with Khumbela, Gruppo. The Landmark, and Wrangler. The proponents also undertook research at TURC, Central Bank, NCSO, and NEDA.

The demand figures for the five years under consideration were based on projections of population by NCSO subject to survey results, while the supply considerations was based on research conducted on importation figures from the Central Bank, as well as from the interview with Wrangler Philippines, from which we obtained estimated local production figures.

Our study revealed that the JACKBAG will be able to meet a part of the unsatisfied demand and that there is still room for that kind of product in the competitive garments industry.

Technical Study. The technical study determined the most economical and efficient way to manufacture the JACKBAG. This includes the time required for each process, the labor requirements, unit costs, as well as breakdowns of raw materials, labor and overhead requirements.

The product will undergo three basic processes, namely, cutting, sewing and assembly, and finishing. With the use of industrial sewing machines, our products will be completed according to specifications, with the minimum of wastage.

Management and Legal Study. The management study determined the type of organization that would be most appropriate for our type of operation and accordingly determined the labor requirements and compensation levels, as well as appropriate company policies.

Legal requirements were also taken into consideration and a Gantt chart of pre-operating activities was devised.

Financial Study. The basic assumptions made are based on research and interviews undertaken by the proponents of the study. Based on our study, we would require pre-operating funds of P500,000, P400,000 of which is to be obtained from the paid up subscriptions of the incorporators, while the rest is to obtained from the execution of a chattel mortgage with Pacific Lending and Capital Corporation on our delivery truck.

Based on our projected financial statements, the proponents performed ratio analysis on the different accounts. Our study revealed that the company is well-off and financially stable, proving the financial feasibility of the project.

Socioeconomic Study. This part of the study determined the social desirability of our project. Based on research and interviews, the proponents conclude that the business entity will have a considerable contribution to the community in the form of employment, increased tax revenues, increased and enhanced production activity, as well as increased competitiveness in the industry.
