Abstract/Summary

Executive Summary. Marketing Study. In the marketing study, it was determined whether there was a demand for the proponents' product. This was done through both primary and secondary data. Primary data consisted of results of the survey conducted by the proponents to acquire information about the target market, including the target market's preference for the product. Secondary data consisted of demand and supply indices as well as industry analysis found in publications. Both a holistic and specific approach to assessing the market was used. A S.W.O.T. (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats) analysis of the cashew industry was made as a presentation of the size and growth of the fruit juice industry. Export opportunities were also presented. A profile of the target market was also made and a targeted market share was computed. The appropriate marketing mix for the product (product and packaging, price, place and promotion) was also discussed.

Technical Study. The technical study dealt with the proponents' choice of manufacturing process among available alternatives. It also presents the machinery and supplies needed for the implementation of the process. Illustrations of these machinery and supplies were included. The raw materials needed were also presented. A location for the plant site was selected among various alternatives. A location map and a layout of the floor plan was included along with information concerning the plant site and set up. Utilities and waste disposal methods were also discussed.
